Stakeholder newsletter: October 2006
Projects
A sample of 24 projects was showcased at the Action Plan briefing events, illustrating existing practice from around the Region in schools, colleges, universities, community learning centres and companies, mapped onto the Action Plan framework.
Now we are starting in the rollout phase of Digital 2010, there are many more projects getting started and underway that we want to celebrate in this newsletter.
If you’d like to tell us about your projects and how they map against the Yorkshire and Humber Digital Skills Action Plan 2005 – 2009, email us on info@sero.co.uk and we can arrange to have a chat about the work you’re doing!
Alternatively, you can fill out our case study template here.

Procurement
It is a major objective that the Action Plan should be reflected and also referenced in the procurement of learning and skills programmes. In that way fund holders are delivering their commitment to Digital 2010 very specifically and also ensuring their suppliers will be contracted to address Action Plan outcomes.
At this early stage it is very encouraging to report that three major programmes have referenced the Action Plan in procurement and programme funding documentation, representing a total related spend of around £5m to 2008
- LSC West Yorkshire - ESF funds (further information from Linda Broughton, NTI West Yorkshire)
- South Yorkshire e-Learning Programme - ESF & ERDF funds under Objective 1 (Ian Chowcat, Sheffield City Council)
- Yorkshire Forward - STEM Programme (Alison Fender, Yorkshire Forward)
We hope to track these and other major procurements in future newsletters. |
