Digital 2010 Stakeholder Newsletter, Summer 2007

Editorial

Welcome to the third edition of the Digital 2010 Stakeholder Newsletter, keeping you up to date with developments in digital and ICT education & training across the region, from schools through to workforce development.

Since we last wrote to you, Digital 2010 has launched an ITQ Best Practice Group hosted by NTI West Yorkshire with e-Skills UK.  See the comments of Karen Price, CEO of e-Skills UK on Yorkshire and Humber.

With a schools focus, we have worked with Becta to capitalise on the visit of the Harnessing Technology roadshow to the region and we are working with Local Authority partners to prepare for introduction of the new 14-19 diplomas.

In the business arena, we have looked at the relevance of Open Source software to businesses and interviewed some of the regional course providers.

On the e-learning agenda, we are collaborating with JISC to map activity in the region onto the Digital 2010 Action Plan and agree a strategy for how to move forward.

On user skills, we are focusing on the new entry level Adobe certifications in order to give Yorkshire and Humber citizens next generation skills for ‘web world’.

So, please read on, visit the website, and get in touch.  We look forward to hearing from you with your news, ideas and views.
